Everything begins with a conversation, an intimate and profound exchange of stories and confessions that is, at the same time, light and carefree. An interweaving of lines, trajectories and geometries flow and chase each other over blank pages, like the words that flow between two friends who haven’t seen each other for ages. Memories and lines blend together, creating shapes coloured with shades both delicate and bold. The more intimate pinks and greys explode in the light-heartedness and joy of fuchsia and blue. The two women’s spirits lighten as they laugh, sip wine and whisper confessions, becoming grapes and clouds, caressing their wine glasses and losing themselves in ever happier memories. A small bird comes to rest between them, like the intake of breath that precedes laughter; like the signature on completion of a painting; La Pettegola.

For the first time ever, the artwork offers an augmented reality experience through the Banfi Experience app. A video teaser, which sees two women chatting in a wine bar, shows the label on the bottle coming to life through their smartphone screens.Presentation event
The 2020 Limited Edition of La Pettegola was previewed on 11 February with an event in the wonderful setting of the Serre Torrigiani in Florence; a magical and timeless location where visitors can rediscover their love of beauty and nature.

Illustrator - Painter
Riccardo Guasco, aka Rik, an illustrator and painter, was born in Alessandria in 1975. Influenced by movements such as Cubism and Futurism, and by artists such as Picasso and Depero, he has developed a love of posters as a form of communication and education of the image. He blends poetry and irony, creating illustrations that are a joy to see. His illustrations have appeared in advertising campaigns, magazines and books, and on ships and bicycles. He has collaborated with The New Yorker, Eni, TIM, Rizzoli, Mondadori, Poste Italiane, Ferrari, Gazzetta dello Sport, Pasta Agnesi, Touring Club Italiano, Bloomsbury, Martini, Sole 24 Ore, Emergency, Greenpeace, Rai, L’Espresso, Peroni, Moby and many others.
